Testing is the first step to getting treated and cured for hepatitis C. It is best to be tested and treated before you become pregnant, but if you don’t know your status while pregnant it’s even more important to be tested early. New York state requires testing during pregnancy. That isn’t true in every state, though, so make sure you ask your doctor for hepatitis C testing if you’re pregnant.
