About the Tested Learning Model
The Tested Learning Model applies a health learning session format that centers on the digital graphic comic to engage groups about public health issues. The learning model addresses an ever expanding list of health and social issues including HIV/STI and other sexual health concepts, mental health, health equity, substance use, COVID-19 and Long COVID, aging with HIV, LGBTQ+ issues, intimate partner violence, the foster care system, racism, and the justice system..

An example of a Tested Learning Model session is:

Learners will:
-
Receive entertaining and engaging materials
-
Explore health issues through representative characters and situations
-
Create a collaborative and constructive learning space
-
Access empowering resources.
The model can be tailored to engage various audiences and settings, such as hospitals, community-based organizations, youth agencies, and universities. Pilots at multiple academic institutions have shown that the learning model increased learners’ engagement, knowledge, and interest in public health topics.
